Hi, friend!
Let's get this celebration started!
This dudoir guide is here to offer some suggestions to help you get the most out of your dudoir photo shoot.
I hope you’ll find something that speaks to you or inspires you to honor yourself in this moment.
See you soon!
Before Your dudoir Session
Make Yourself a Playlist!
Spend sometime compiling your favorite songs and we'll listen to them throughout your dudoir photo shoot! Aim to make the playlist 1.5-2 hours long, so you can listen to it on your way to the session, as well. If you don't have the time or desire to curate an entire list, just make a mental note of some of your favorite artists, so we can turn them on when you arrive.
Journal | Meditate
Set an intention, write down anything that might need to be acknowledged, allow your thoughts to flow in a stream of consciousness, or hype yourself up with some affirmations. Explore what dudoir means to you?
Stretch | Move
Do a light yoga flow, dance, or workout! This a great opportunity to check in with yourself and wake up your muscles. If anything came up in your journaling that you need to process or move through, this is a great way to release that.
Shower | Bathe
Wash off any lingering bad vibes and say, "Byeeee!" as they go down the drain! Some of the best ideas present themselves in the shower. Get curious about what comes up or just relax, as the water passes over you.
Eat | Enjoy
Treat yourself to a meal that makes you feel good. Choose something that will give you energy and not feel overly heavy.
If you have any dudoir inspiration photos or a Pinterest board that you'd like to share with me before your photo shoot, email them to brie@opalhour.com
What to Wear to Your Dudoir Session:
Loose fitting clothing,
Loose fitting underwear, and/or no underwear.
The idea is to minimize the amount of clothing lines, so please avoid any tight fitting clothes, under garments, or long/tight socks.
Pre-Shoot Outfit Ideas:
Sweats, a button up shirt with loose pants.
If you prefer to wear one of your outfits to the photo shoot, and you’re bringing more than one, please do your best to save any tight fitting/strappy numbers, until the end.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR DUDOIR SESSION:
Outfit Planning
When you arrive, we'll take a look around the studio and talk about which photo areas and props you'd like to incorporate. Then we'll select your outfits and decide which order to wear them in.
Guided Posing
We'll play music and I will guide you through each pose. You don't need to have anything planned or have any prior experience with modeling, to take awesome photos.
Hyping You Up
I will be your personal hype squad throughout the process! You've got this! Take this opportunity to play and have fun, or lean into whatever emotions are coming up for you.
Collaborating
This is your shoot! Let me know if there are any poses that you'd like to try, concepts that you'd like to explore, or specific photos that you would like to create.
My hope is that you can use this opportunity to see yourself through a new lens.
Bring that outfit you’ve been longing to wear! Bring outfits that YOU feel amazing in. Bring an outfit that makes you giggle!
When you feel comfortable and confident, that magic spark will shine through in your photos.
safety and APpropriate behavior:
Opal Hour Photo reserves the right to terminate this photoshoot at any time, if the Photographer or any of the Photographer's associates feel unsafe, at any time. In this event, no refunds will be issued.
Thank you for your understanding.
